How did Housing Choices Get Started?

In 1995, a dedicated group of parents and service providers came together in search of solutions. This grassroots effort became Housing Choices Coalition. With start-up funding from San Andreas Regional Center, we incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in July 1997. Since then, Housing Choices has established itself as a trustworthy resource for our community. The Coalition's work in educating, informing, and building our community through partnerships with affordable housing developers has created new housing units for people with developmental disabilities. And we are just beginning!
